“It’s Not on My Radar Screen,” Already She Is Starting the Lies

She dogs people in the Republican Party yet she is strategizing heavily to make sure her number stays up. It may have been a savvy move by Palin to agree to an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Sarah Palin says that when she got a surprise phone call from the McCain campaign one August afternoon, asking whether she’d like to be on the Republican presidential ticket, the then-Alaska governor says she didn’t doubt for a moment she was ready for the challenge. How arrogant can one be? It’s the second most powerful position in the world and her reply just shows that she has no sense of reality.

“When I got the call, it was not such a shocking call to me,” Palin told talk-show host Oprah Winfrey in a highly anticipated interview that aired Monday. “I felt quite confident in my abilities and my executive experience and I knew that this is an executive administrative job. I was happy to get in there and contribute.”

Nor was Palin deterred by the fact she had five kids at home, including an infant with special needs.

“It never occurred to me that I couldn’t do the job because of children,” she said. “My children are my strength. … They allow me to be grounded.” Naturally being the Vice President of the United States she would have Nannies at her disposal but no one would ever question a man the same question of his ability to do the job if he had five children.

But what did shock Palin was just how much the campaign knew about her and her family before she even formally met with Sen. John McCain to discuss the job. Contrary to what was reported in the media, Palin said, she was extensively vetted, and the campaign knew exactly “who they were getting.” Are you kidding, of course she was vetted!!! They knew everything from soup to nuts as any candidate would. No one with a brain would put themselves into a position where they would be embarrassed in the middle of a campaign. Of course this time it didn’t work.

“After this vetting and the hours of discussion about the background, my record, my family, what I stand for … I thought after all that I better confess it now, the one skeleton is in my closet,” Palin said. “I did get a D 22 years ago in a college course. And I thought that was going to be the extent of the controversy in Sarah Palin’s life.”

One year later, Palin has seen more than her fair share of controversies but has emerged as one of the hottest Republican stars and is among the early leaders for the 2012 presidential nomination.

Her session with Oprah came a day before her already-bestseller “Going Rogue: An American Life” will hit bookstores and Palin will hit the road on a tour of some of America’s most conservative corners.

The book and concurrent publicity blitz have all the trappings of an early salvo in the upcoming race for the White House, but Palin said 2012 isn’t on her radar screen. That’s such bull poop.

“I am dealing with so many issues that are important … and what I am finding, clearer and clearer every day, what I am seeing is that you don’t need a title to make a difference.” More bull poop.

In the wide-ranging interview, few subjects were left untouched, including Palin’s early and frequent clashes with the senior ranks of the McCain campaign. Everyone in the world knows she is a rookie but she hasn’t figured that out yet.

My favorite of all was her resignation as Governor of Alaska. “I resigned as governor of Alaska because I wasn’t going to run for a second term, and I was heading into a lame duck term,” Palin said of that decision, which shocked political observers.

“We came back [from the campaign] to a new normal in Alaska. Everything had so changed in my administration,” Palin continued. “There were so many opposition researchers up there in Alaska that were sent, probably, by the Obama camp. … It was a point where my state of Alaska was being hampered by my presence there.” Even more Bull Poop.

I’ve personally had enough of Sarah Palin and the stories we are subjected to from the talking heads on CNN and Fox. We as a nation are screaming UNCLE! We have had enough. I am a Republican, for the record and if she is the nominee in 2012 maybe the new 2012 movie scenario isn’t that far off. What is next? Bristol does a spread on Playboy?

The best quote I have read to date about her original lie is “She’s not retreating; she’s reloading.” When she states that 2012 isn’t on her radar, she follows with this quote from her dad which clearly indicates that she is prepping heavily.

Carrie, Carrie, Carrie, What a Disaster You Are!!!

The former Miss California, Carrie Prejean appeared on “Larry King Live” on Wednesday and got so upset with King that she accused the veteran talk-show host of being “inappropriate” before threatening to storm off the set.

What irked Prejean was the discussion of how her sex tape may have impacted her recent lawsuit settlement. When she was asked by King why she settled her lawsuit settlement against the Miss California pageant, the interview became bizarre to say the least.  So bizarre that if you didn’t see it, it’s worth the laugh!

 Here’s how it went down…

”You sued the pageant after they fired you, they countersued, and then you accused them of a number of things including religious discrimination, clearly an issue important to you,” King asked. “Why did you settle? You don’t have to tell me the terms of the settlement, but why settle since you had a fight to carry on?”

“You know what Larry. Everything that was discussed in mediation, I’ll say it again, is completely confidential. I’m not, I’m not gonna be able to talk about that.” Prejean retorted.

King continues: “So, you can’t even say why you settled? How does that break what you settled for?”

Prejean then reiterates what she originally said and then follows up with: ”Larry, you’re being inappropriate.  You really are.”

Inappropriate?  Is she stupid?  If she has a handler she needs to fire them.  She is always throwing up all over herself.

Miss California appeared on CNN’s Larry King Live to promote her new book. Prejean believes she lost her pageant crown due to her opposition to gay marriage.  Prejean currently has a new book in stores titled “Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attack.” I will not be making this purchase.

If you recall the story of Carrie Prejean, she was headed to a career at least as a mid-range celebrity until Perez Hilton “outed” her. The flamboyant celebrity blogger was the judge at the Miss USA pageant in February of this year when he asked this now famous question of Prejean, who was Miss California: infamously told a pageant audience that she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman, and that she was proud to live in “a country where people could choose gay marriage or opposite marriage.  She seems so stupid!

“It was later revealed the pageant had paid for her breast implants. She was eventually dismissed from her contract amid allegations she failed to make scheduled public appearances.

Carrie openly stated she believed marriage was between a man and a woman, when she should have said “I believe people have the right to live as they chose” and left it at that. If you look closely, Perez Hilton lowered his head and the pageant host put his finger to his collar as if to loosen it, showing he was nervous.

Outraged Peres went home and created this funny YouTube video.

And that set in motion a national debate which led to the head of the Miss California organization working to remove Prejean from the post, stating that she did not meet all of her scheduled obligations and was not honest about informing them of semi-nude photos of her taken when she was 17 years old.

Back to the Larry King show, gay man from Detroit calls to ask Prejean a question.

“I’m a gay man and I love pageants,” the Detroit caller says. “I’m sure that you, Carrie, have got, you know, great gay friends that helped you possibly win. What would you give them as advice if they wanted to get married?”

By this point, Prejean has disconnected her microphone and claimed to have not heard the question.  When King asks the ex-Miss America to put her microphone back on, she refuses, saying, “you’re being extremely inappropriate right now and I am about to leave your show.

Check it out… here!

Carrie’s behavior went south not so much when she said she couldn’t answer the question, there are ways she could have got around it, but when she then threatened to leave the show. What Carrie should have said – notice that she needs coaching here – is “We discussed some terms that I can’t reveal, but I’m happy with the outcome” or words to that effect. But, she didn’t do that.

I couldn’t believe she was being so childish. At a time when she could have shown grace under pressure, she caved in.

Carrie lost whatever support she had with that display because it reveals her character. She’s going to have to do a lot to regain the trust and support of the American public.

A girl going wayward…

I was saw this little girl mentioned on CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/10/14/florida.muslim.convert/index.html ) and it intrigued me.  I understand where she is coming from because as a Muslim child born in Vietnam the combination of cultures after coming to the United States can really be difficult.  And just like my mother, who still has a heavy Vietnamese accent and Muslim views, her parents are probably so clueless about what she thinks or how she feels.

Parents from India, Vietnam, or any other customary country cannot bring their children into this world and expect that they will not have independent views if they move them into the Western world.  Even after being in the United Stated for over 30 years, my mother has not accepted that I am American.  In fact, she will say, “you think too much like an American.” Or, “you sound like an American.”  Not until I had my own child did I feel empowered to speak up and have an opinion of my own to tell her.  I now know that she’ll never understand so I just respect her views and ask that she respects mine.

That being said, I do believe this little girl is being extremely dramatic.  Whether her parents threatened to throw the computer at her or not, I believe she is creating a greater scene than what happened.  I was not their but if her parents are anything like my mother was, they did not mean to scare their daughter.  How they have dealt with her was obviously because they did not feel like they had control.

My mother went through a very similar situation when we were teenagers.  Without calling out any names, this person made up so many lies without any regard for anyone else.  My mother’s parenting was questioned and it literally tore our family apart.  I never understood why someone would make things up about their own mother.  At that point, my trust of a family member was scared and my trust toward everyone died.

Today, I believe the person that did this to our family was in her beginning stages of narcissism.  What I came to find after years and years of redeveloping a relationship with this person is that the demonstrations set during their teenage years was just a preview to the person they will have become.

Bottom line, the family needs therapy but the little girl needs a mental evaluation done on her.  They say that noticeable symptoms begin during the teenage years for people with mental illness.

I hope the whole family gets help and I hope she realizes that what she says or does in life can affect people.  Most of all, her.

Is David Letterman, sorry? Or does he have Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

So he has been going on the air every night poking fun of himself and just last night he mentions how he now has to try to repair his relationship with Regina Lasko, his wife.

He is literally, breaking out in sweats and shitting all over himself on live television.  He doesn’t even know how to act or what to say anymore.  He knows he’s in the dog house but he has not thought about the cat that he has run up into the tree and is hiding.

I understand firsthand about removing the weapons that people may use against you, but how about the respect and acknowledgement of a woman who is humiliate on a public level and did not ask for the publicity.

I know firsthand about being guilty by association and so does everyone who has ever been involved with me.  Sometimes, we suffer from who we decide to be involved with. We all create our own experience but just because he is taking responsibility, doesn’t mean his wife has to suffer from it.

Is anybody really sorry about the deed?  Or are we sorry about getting caught?

Maybe a simple apology and statement about getting on with things is best for all.  After all, if we can look forward, we are not anchored by our past.

If you want to apologize and work it out, great.  No one wants to see or think about a person suffering over a late night joke.

Remember, you did ‘it’ for a reason,

What was missing?

Why not focus on that?

David, get your unit out of your ego and think about your wife instead of yourself for once.

Crimes of Desperation

CNN posted this article: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/TV/10/02/letterman.past.incidents/index.html named, ‘Sextortion’ is latest issue pushing Letterman into spotlight.

A new review by the Police Executive Research Forum found that 44% of 233 police agencies across the country reported spikes in crime linked to the economy.  Of those, 40 percent reported an increase in thefts due to the economy.

Robert ‘Joe’ Halderman supposedly desperate and debt-ridden according to The New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/2009/10/02/2009-10-02_robert_j.html) has possibly ruined his career and his reputation for life because his ethic of service is at war with a craving for gain.  It always seems to come back to money. I’ve had to learn the hard way that it just doesn’t pay but when we are desperate, we do not think clearly.

The movie Fun with Dick and Jane (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369441/) is about a middle manager Dick Harper, who becomes jobless, and with no savings, pension, or home equity, Dick and his wife Jane sink slowly into poverty.  A foreclosure notice sends Dick and Jane over the edge into a life of blue-collar crime. Then, as things finally look up, the report of a looming indictment pushes Dick and Jane toward a denouement with the real criminals, the white-collar guys.

Even the Showtime show Weeds (http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/home.do) addresses how desperate people can become.  The plot revolves around a widowed housewife (Mary-Louise Parker) from an affluent California suburb who becomes her neighborhood’s marijuana dealer to make ends meet. The title is a play on words, referring to both the slang term for marijuana and widow’s weeds, it also refers to the tendency of American suburbs to grow quickly and pervasively, with the dwellings and their residents being almost as indistinguishable as weeds; this is mirrored in the show’s theme song “Little Boxes” and opening credits, and is a recurring theme of the show itself. The theme song changes in the second season. The change consists of a different version every week.

People probably think Robert ‘Joe’ Halderman is a dirt bag and that he had a personal vendetta again David Letterman but I believe it was not personal at all.  What he did was something a dirt bag would do but I do not know Mr. Halderman so I cannot begin to judge but I hope that what the Assistant District Attorney Judy Salwen says about him wanting” to destroy the reputation of Mr. Letterman and submit him and his family to humiliation and ridicule” is not true.  Shame on her, and this is a very judgmental statement in this ‘supposedly’ democratic country we live in.

By no means am I justifying his attempt at extortion but right now, many people feel desperate, silently.  We all judge and based on what the media puts out we deem their opinion as gospel.  Crimes of desperation suck for all parties including the person who is guilty before proven innocent.

Sephora Samplings Seem Sparing

I cannot believe how lame Sephora’s marketing gimmick is.  Really, it’s all lotions and potions and with how expensive the product people purchase have become, you would think that even if you just browsed the store, you could walk away with a featured product sample for the day.

The Sephora retail concept is awesome how they have created a retail environment that invites customers to roam the store and try on different product made by many different manufacturers. I love not having to feel like Angelina Jolie or Jessica Simpson when walk into the store.  Instead we have to deal with the lipsticks, eyeliners, blush, or perfumes paparazzi of department store cosmetics counters that force us to interact with their commissioned swindlers to sample a product.

I hate how retailers do not look long term though.  I am starting to think that Sephora is so chintzy with the samples.  How are people supposed to know how great this manufacturers’ new invention is if not everyone gets to sample it?  That’s just stupid. You want everybody to buy it but you do not let everybody try it.  Who is the genius who came up with that marketing ploy?  Nice effort.

Marketers just look at their week over week balance sheet and what CNN reports.  CNN, they are always right, RIGHT?!?!

Then, they determine what the world’s buying habits are forever based off of an abbreviated period in time.  Do marketers ever think about brand loyalty?  They say they do but that is just more sales and marketing jabber.

I think if we started to measure the market and how rich or poor a brand is year over year; we would see that in the end, the one with brand loyalty is where the money is.  That over the decades the brand loyalty will win and the fly by night imposters that come and go month over month do not make the scale.

We read that drug dealers get people hooked by giving them a sample and now we have a drug epidemic.  Why haven’t these big business retailers and manufacturers figured it out?  Maybe we can strive for a product epidemic?  I think even Martha Stewart would say, “It’s A Good Thing!”

I get it, it’s expensive to front the samples, well, at least that’s what they say.  My feeling is, you shouldn’t play if you cannot pay but expect the consumer to pay out their nose and these retailers and manufacturers need to stop advertising their free card tricks and give the consumer the benefit of the doubt.  At least these guys do not under estimate the way consumers think… <a href=”http://16bd07u2fo6y9u0tmex0yp4o8x.hop.clickbank.net/” target=”_top”>Click Here!</a>

If I use myself as an example, I still have few more decades to spend more money and can name off about a hundred people who will have the same situation. I will remember the day I ran out of a certain product and had to go back into my drawer and use the sample that was given to me at the store.  Not only will I want to purchase it if I have a good experience but the dependable product will have a warm place in my heart because of the time it came through when I really needed it.
